There’s the satisfaction of knowing you have donated your time and efforts to being a part of the community. Knowing you may save a life and have the skills, knowledge and experience to help you excel in any endeavor in life.

There are many jobs within the department and even little jobs provide a big benefit. Every member receives appropriate safety equipment for his or her assignment and training at no cost.

Firefighter :
Must be 18 years old and in good health and have a valid Wisconsin drivers license. Firefighters are the ones who answer the call for help, putting out fires and performing rescues. Some of the things you will be asked to do are carrying hoses, climbing ladders, and operating fire department equipment. You will be required to take entry-level firefighter classes at Nicolet Tech College and attend monthly training drills.

First Responder :
Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Wisconsin drivers license. First Responders are medically trained to respond and assist the Oneida County Ambulance on EMS calls. Some of the things you will be asked to do are perform patient evaluations, take vitals, and render first aid. You will be required to take either as first responder course or a basic emergency medical technician course and attend monthly training drills.

Support Member :
This is the area for anyone who doesn’t want to run into burning buildings. The majority of the work required around the fire station is ensuring that the equipment is ready to go when a call comes in. Use your skills and talents to help us behind the scenes. You can help by assisting with fundraisers, servicing equipment, cleaning equipment and the station, giving tours of the station or teaching fire safety. This is just an example of some of the things you could help with. Support members must have a valid Wisconsin drivers license and be at least 18 years of age.

Junior Member :
Must be 16 to 18 years of age. Must maintain “C’s” or better in all subjects at school. Junior members are firefighters in training. They may provide support during firefighting operations such as accountability and bringing equipment where it is needed. They are not allowed to enter a fire building, climb ladders or operate department vehicles. Supervision is provided at all times.

To join you must attend a total of six consecutive meetings. There are business meetings the first Thursday of every month and training drills the third Thursday of every month. All meetings start at 7:00 PM.
